What is Ohio?

According to the office of Social and Economic Trend Analysis (SETA), Ohio is in the Midwest along with Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota.

However, Ohio is also known across the country for The Ohio State University, a Big Ten school (the oldest college athletic conference in America). Other schools in this conference are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin.

My favorite geographic categorization for the state of Ohio is from the website www.heartheissues.com. This site mapped the ten regions of United States politics and found Ohio to be a mixture of three regions: The Great Lakes, The Farm Belt, and Appalachia.
